Who am I? I'm a teacher and mentor, a writer and a mother of three boys aged ten to one. I've been teaching (both in and out of the classroom) and tutoring for many years now and have seen a wide range of students --motivated and otherwise!-- during this time. I am a former Head of year 7, and GCSE English examiner. It is my aim to create a relaxed environment in which to learn, but also, and particularly when it comes to exam students, to help instil a work ethic where it might be missing!
And then what about experiencing the joy and excitement of reading? You will have access to the rather large library of books in our house. I love what I do and hope to take you (or yours) with me.
I am not a specialist teacher for students who have learning difficulties - and can refer you on if need be - but it is the case that I have wide experience of teaching students with dyslexia and other issues within a mainstream classsroom environment. We can discuss this, if appropriate.
I am also a freelance journalist, writing on local issues, on food and family. I have written two books: one a food journal and the other an anthology of short stories and have seen a variety of fiction and non fiction work published both locallly and nationally: 2012 is the year I hope to finish a novel...WATCH THIS SPACE

Oh, and I have an MA and am CRB checked (Enhanced disclosure) and fully insured. Just thought I'd mention this.
